Ethnic-Religious Problems in the Balkans: Theory, Practice, Policies

Institute for Balkan Studies with a Center of Thracology “Prof. Alexander Fol” (IBSCT) of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) organizes an international multidisciplinary academic conference “Ethnic-Religious Problems in the Balkans: Theory, Practice, Policies”.
The conference will be held in Bulgarian and in English, in a hybrid format. It will bring together scholars to discuss key issues pertaining to ethnic, religious, cultural, minority issues in the Balkan countries, as well as historical, legal, and cultural practices and policies carried out by local, regional, and national authorities in the last two centuries, including the EU policies.
The conference is part of a series of academic events, under the project on “Ethnic, Religious, and Minority Problems in the Balkans in the 20th and 21st Centuries.” One aim of the conference will be to set up an international, multidisciplinary network of scholars working on the topic.
